Lorsqu’elle désire ouvrir son cabinet en plus de sa pratique en institut, Solène, psychologue clinicienne, me sollicite pour la création de cartes de visite. Une demande ouvrant sur des questionnements, l’idée d’élargir le périmètre à une identité visuelle pour disposer d’une papeterie complète est acté. Solène reçoit dans son cabinet des adultes pour tout type de difficultés psychiques. Comment démêler de notre désir ce qui appartient des attentes de la famille, de la société ou de notre vie affective ? Selon elle, se sentir en décalage avec soi-même est une bonne indication pour commencer un travail personnel ; afin d’élucider ce qui se répète, ce qui parait énigmatique, incompréhensible et par conséquent alléger la souffrance. De subtils gestes graphiques relient les lettres, puisant leurs inspirations dans les mathèmes de Lacan. Visibles pour celui qui en prend le temps, ils apportent douceur au bloc typographique. Née de l’idée d’une superposition de différentes visions qui ont émergé au tournant du XXe siècle – siècle qui a vu naître la psychanalyse, son dessin ciselé et fluide évoque aussi bien une couverture de livre que son texte. À la manière du positionnement d’un psychologue qui cherche le pas de côté, la mise en forme des textes joue avec des principes de décalages. Enfin, la carte de visite s’inspire du format vertical des livres, ainsi que de leurs papiers avec le choix d’une teinte entre lime et chamois. L’enjeu premier était de créer une photographie de profil (ci-dessous) à la fois douce et contenante tout en fixant une structure claire et ouverte, indispensable à un cadre de travail. À contre-courant de celui qui cherche la célébrité sans but, il trace son chemin, à la frontière de l’inattendu mais non loin des sentiers battus. Il fait. Rencontré au hasard d’une séance photo, Soma souhaitait que sa seconde mixtape, Hustle Mode, soit le premier tournant de sa carrière, venant marquer l’affirmation de son identité musicale. Cette mixtape, sa communication, et la nouvelle direction créative ont pour but de transformer l’exposition et la reconnaissance du Chroniqueur Sale et d’aller chercher de nouveaux médias. Le point de rencontre avec sa mixtape se réalise sur l’idée du « Faire pour réussir », car Hustle Mode, tout comme Soma, est celui qui charbonne, qui s’affirme. C’est un projet scénarisé pour faire vivre de grandes émotions.Le scénario du Grand Soir Le grand soir, c’est ce moment de chamboulement révolutionnaire, qui voit un ancien monde se faire chasser par un nouveau. Paradoxalement, l’expression est aussi reprise plus factuellement pour exprimer une soirée mémorable, un évènement grandiloquent fantasmant des époques révolues. Entre effort du travail et lumière du mondain, s’y dessine un film, mis-en-scène par Soma. La mixtape étant pensée avec des références cinématographiques, je suis allé puiser dans l’image d’Épinal des salles de cinéma. Il se trouve aussi que film et typographie entretiennent un lien fort, notamment grâce aux génériques et leur mise en forme très identifiable. Cette typographie, nommée Grand Soir, est inspirée des caractères linéaires en bois du début du XXe siècle, avec leurs finitions grotesques ainsi que des grandes lettres aux aspects mécaniques annonçant les films et leurs stars. Elles étaient alors montées sur les façades des cinémas et utilisées pour attirer le regard des passants. Il doit rester discret pour que le projet n’apparaisse pas comme un produit, tout en étant assez fort pour faire apparaitre un geste artistique. Avant notre rencontre, Soma avait déjà fixé sa tenue et surtout son casque, très marqués visuellement. C’est pourquoi les codes graphiques restent simples et font appel à des références évidentes comme les covers du label Blue Note avec leur gestion de l’espace et de la typographie. Cette identité graphique vivante et lumineuse est contrebalancé par une direction photo jouant avec le réel et sa dureté plus sombre, empreinte d’un aspect cinématographique très fort avec des rappels psychanalytique pour jeunes, dans la création d’un journal mensuel.Périmètre : Édition, Identité visuelle, Dessin de caractères, Workshop Rôle : Directeur de création, Designer &amp; Dessinateur de caractères Typographie : Bonzom (custom) &amp; Sebenta par Feliciano Type En raison de la nature du projet, certaines images ne peuvent figurer dans l’étude de cas. Tous les noms et visages ont été soit masqués, soit changés. En 2021, à la fin des confinements, une partie de l’équipe de l’École Expérimentale de Bonneuil décide de lancer l’atelier Journal. Cette école est particulière, ce qui rend ce journal lui aussi particulier. Elle est fondée en 1969 par la psychanalyste Maud Mannoni comme lieu de vie et d’accueil pour enfants et adolescents (communément appelés « les jeunes ») autistes, psychotiques ou présentant de grandes névroses. Elle a aujourd’hui le statut d’hôpital de jour, où le lieu de vie, l’échange et la pensée psychanalytique structurent l’établissement. Lors de cet atelier les jeunes font un travail d’enquête, d’écriture, de fond, de journaliste en somme, afin de publier un journal mensuel. L’équipe fait souvent appel au monde extérieur (comprendre, qui n’est pas de l’institution ni de la profession) pour instaurer un dialogue avec ces jeunes et leur permettre de se positionner avec d’autres. C’est dans cette optique que s’est faite cette collaboration, pour permettre à l’équipe et surtout aux jeunes d’aller au bout de leur démarche afin de pouvoir tenir le fruit de leur travail entre leurs mains. En premier lieu pour garder une grande visibilité, et ensuite, pour faire écho aux têtières et unes de journaux où la typographie est la plus impactante possible pour attirer l’œil. Dans cet esprit de référence à la presse quotidienne, j’ai donc dessiné cette tétière qui mêle des lettres condensées très grasse et droites, à des formes rondes presque géométriques pour certaines lettres. De cette manière, l’emphase est mise sur « Bonneuillois » et moins sur « Le Petit ». Pour compléter ce rythme musical et apporter de la douceur, les « i » sont traités comme des bas-de-casses et laissent apparaitre à qui veut le voir, des petits bonhommes. La mise en page est joyeuse colorée et aérienne, tout en gardant la structure solide d’un quotidien. Comme pour la mise en page, tout vient du dessin de la têtière, avec l’assemblage de forme rectangulaires et rondes. Dans un format prédéfini, avec les outils de leur choix (du découpage de photos, à la peinture, en passant par le feutre, etc.), et ce langage de formes simples, les jeunes expriment leurs idées et récits de manières évocatrices. Pour bien marquer la différence avec le quotidien, les Hors-Séries prennent la forme d’un magazine, et profitent de ce format pour faire le plein de couleurs. Convergence est une agence de conseil en communication spécialisée dans l’univers du bâtiment, de la construction et de l’habitat. Répartie en 3 bureaux à travers la France (Paris, Lyon et Bordeaux), l’agence mise sur l’expérience de ses équipes pour proposer des services allant de la stratégie et du conseil, à la production 360°. En 2022 et après plus de trente années d’activité, convergence souhaite faire évoluer son image de marque et contacte graphéine. La volonté de ce re-branding est de refléter et valoriser cette expertise, tout en s’inscrivant dans la continuité des codes graphique de l’agence reconnue par ses clients.Co-nnaissance du métier Reconnue dans son secteur, tant par les clients que les concurrents, Convergence a fait de l’accompagnement et la pédagogie son fer de lance. Cela se retrouve aussi dans leur communication, où l’agence produit mensuellement un travail éditorial aux décideurs en marketing et communication de l’industrie et du commerce spécialisé. Sa structure et ses formes géométriques simples font écho à la construction, là où la rondeur et sa légèreté évoquent l’agilité. Cette imbrication de 2 lettres de manière très architecturale lui confère une stabilité tout en légèreté. Ainsi dans la communication, le monogramme s’associe au discours et vient enrichir le nom de nouvelles valeurs fortes. Typographie : Garnett par Sharp Type &amp; Suisse Int’l par SwissType Grand établissement d’enseignement supérieur et de recherche au rayonnement international, l’Institut Physique du Globe de Paris a intégré Université Paris Cité le 20 mars 2019, en tant qu’établissement composante, tout en gardant sa personnalité morale et juridique. Organisme de recherche en géo-sciences et véritable vivier de talents, l’IPGP rassemble plus de 500 personnes : des chercheurs du monde entier, des techniciens, ou des post-doctorants, tous sont réunis par l’étude de la Terre et des planètes depuis le noyau jusqu’aux enveloppes fluides les plus superficielles. Outre son intégration à Université Paris Cité, l’IPGP allait célébrer les 100 ans de sa création et souhaitait mener une réflexion sur son identité visuelle pour gagner en cohérence, en crédibilité et refléter ce siècle d’histoire. Cependant, ses trente années d’existence viennent démontrer un certain attachement de la part des équipes à ce symbole. Nous avons donc choisi de garder les mêmes éléments, toujours pertinents sur la mission de l’IPGP, mais en les fusionnant afin d’obtenir un emblème simple et évocateur. Ainsi, la tour Eiffel apparait comme le cœur sismique d’un globe qui peut être formé par des ondes, par des reliefs, ou symboliser des dynamiques terrestres. Le bloc typographique a été dessiné sur-mesure en capitale et dans un style néo-grotesque qui lui confère un aspect statutaire. Ce qui vaut pour les formes vaut donc aussi pour les couleurs et dans ce souci d’harmonisation, le choix d’un rouge tellurique acte l’intégration de l’IPGP en tant que composante au sein d’Université Paris Cité. Nous avons mené un travail de repositionnement, en misant sur des codes éditoriaux flexibles, plus à même d’évoquer le sérieux et l’impact de l’institut. Le couple typographique se base en premier lieu sur la Garnett avec sa structure grotesque robuste et douce pour instaurer un ton à la fois historique (grâce à son inspiration du XIXe siècle) et moderne (du fait de son aspect sans serif humain). Celle-ci est complétée par la Suisse Int’l, beaucoup plus neutre et scientifique, totalement à même de composer de longs textes et infographies complexes. Couleurs et typographies s’associent enfin à des gestes graphiques simples et aériens pour composer des visuels identifiables et intemporels. Typographie : ArchivOnsho (custom Archivo, originale par Omnibus-type) et Switzer par ITF En 2020 Camille Henry, fondateur de la société&nbsp; Le Multipiste spécialisée dans la production et la captation audiovisuelle, fait le constat que retransmettre des événements en direct implique énormément de moyens financiers et humains. Pour les organisateurs, il n’y a pas d’alternative, il faut soit engager une captation lourde et onéreuse avec une équipe de tournage, soit réaliser soi-même avec les moyens du bord. De ce besoin, il crée Onsho, un nouveau service innovant de captation, production et réalisation évènementiel. Grâce à un léger dispositif de kits de caméras intelligentes et un accompagnement (à distance ou non) par un opérateur, il rend accessible un rendu professionnel à tous. Cet esprit d’intuition, de praticité et de simplicité a guidé la vision du branding. Le nom est alors court, rythmé grâce à sa répétition des « O », et évoque aussi une fluidité grâce au consonances douces qui relient ces 2 lettres. Ainsi, on peut y voir le spectateur devant son écran, le client face à la caméra ou bien même l’équipe Onsho à la réalisation. L’Archivo, une typographie ayant des formes légèrement cubiques et au rythme aéré, lui conférant un aspect technique et humain, a été customisée pour y intégrer un « O » rectangulaire aux proportions du logo. Cette astuce crée un lien avec le logotype pour rendre la rédaction plus impactante et mémorable. Les textes courants sont composés en Switzer, une néo-grotesque qui prolonge l’idée de fluidité avec son apparence moderne. Dans une optique de simplicité, les fonds sombres sont proscrits, car connotés « technologie complexe » pour initiés. Les fonds blancs ou vifs quant à eux, évoquent l’idée d’ouverture et d’accessibilité. Typographie : Akkurat par&nbsp;Lineto, Obviously par OHNO Type, Americana par Richard Isbell, Untitled serif par Klim Type C’est en 2019, et après plus de deux années de travaux que l’historique Théâtre du Châtelet se ré-ouvre au public. Ce changement de décor marque une nouvelle ère pour le théâtre avec l’arrivée d’une nouvelle direction, en la personne de Ruth Mackenzie à la direction artistique et Thomas Lauriot dit Prévost à la direction administrative. Ces nominations et ces travaux ont pour ambition d’ouvrir le théâtre à un plus vaste public, avec une programmation plus accessible et éclectique, mais aussi par une infrastructure adaptée à tous. C’est avec cette volonté de s’adresser à tous les Parisiens, initiés ou non à l’art scénique, que nous avons envisagé ce projet avec les équipes du théâtre. Il fallait pour cela pouvoir s’appuyer sur une identité visuelle forte, cohérente, et déclinable en développant la notoriété de la marque « Châtelet ». Pour cette raison, il était important de capitaliser et rendre visible des symboles déjà présent mais peut-être trop discrets. De cette manière, l’image s’adapte au discours, car les Parisiens ne vont pas au « Théâtre Musical de Paris », tout le monde va au « Châ-te-let ». Cette émancipation ancre le lieu dans son temps et l’ouvre à tous en le rendant plus accessible. Le second effet est de libérer le potentiel graphique du logotype, et d’écrire une nouvelle histoire à travers ses formes. La nouvelle charte graphique s’est construite autour de grands principes ludiques qui participent à la mise en valeur de l’identité du théâtre. Cette problématique a influencé notre vision de la charte graphique du Châtelet, qui couplée à la notion d’ouverture (à un plus vaste public) nous a poussé à penser la communication sous forme d’interfaces. Ainsi les affiches sont rythmées par 3 zones, à l’image du logo. La première contient ce dernier, qui permet une identification immédiate du théâtre à l’image d’une tétière de journal. Un visuel photographique donne ensuite le ton concernant le spectacle annoncé. Typographie : Raisonné par Colophon, Oldschool Grotesk par Kilotype &amp; Calibre par Klim Type Initié en 1992 mais ouvert en 2006, Les Champs Libres est un équipement de la communauté d’agglomération Rennes Métropole qui regroupe 3 entités : La Bibliothèque de Rennes Métropole, Le Musée de Bretagne et l’Espace des Sciences. Le lieu, dessiné par Christian de Portzamparc, est un projet architectural massif, « rude » comme le décrit lui-même l’architecte, mais à même d’illustrer le principe des anneaux borroméens. Le nom avait été initialement choisi afin d’évoquer une « source de vie », des « espaces nourriciers » libres et sans frontière, propriétés de toutes et tous. La stratégie fût de créer une identité visuelle du lieu Champs Libres, véritable expérience et porte-étendard, pouvant unir et affirmer les 3 entités sous la même architecture de marque. Deux typographies ont été sélectionnées afin de couvrir tous supports, l’Oldschool Grotesk pour son impact et sa douceur, et la Calibre pour sa rondeur et sa lisibilité. En sus, la charte est dôtée de 4 principes de communications : « L’enrelaCé caméléon » met l’emblème au centre et le pare différemment au fil des saisons et thèmes. « Le langage entrelacé » permet lui de construire une communication plus quotidienne en déployant une banque de mots reflets du lieu, construits autour de la lettre/emblème C. Deux autres principes visuels jouent avec l’intégration de l’emblème dans l’environnement des Champs Libres et avec ses publics. Ce dernier qui vient s’entrelacer aux différents plans, embrasse les activités du lieu. une rationalisation géométrique et brutale des écrans. Diplau est une typographie de titrage sans-serif à la gigantesque hauteur d’x qui puise son inspiration dans le sign-painting américain ainsi que dans le travail de Roger Excoffon. Cette base artisanale a ensuite été projetée et explosée contre un écran en rationalisant à outrance la moindre des courbes, géométrisant sans humanité formes et proportions, créant un hybride cousu au câble Ethernet. Cette pratique de rationalisation brute n’est pas nouvelle puisqu’elle était déjà présente à la Renaissance lorsque les typographes ne juraient que par le nombre d’or. C’est donc en explorant continuellement sources historiques, pratique du lettering et objets graphiques qu’est née Diplau, avec la volonté de faire revivre artificiellement un passé fantasmé. Typographies : Berthe par Charles Mazé &amp; Marcin Antique par Feliciano Type Créateur de confiseries et pâtisseries fines associant savoureuses recettes indiennes au savoir-faire et rares ingrédients français, la maison Léonie offre une expérience culinaire unique destinée à être partagée lors d’occasions mémorables avec des convives privilégiés. Dans l’optique d’un lancement et d’une ouverture à Paris, graphéine a travaillé à partir du nom « Léonie » ; prénom de la tante de Marcel Proust qui lui sert ses fameuses madeleines dans À la recherche du temps perdu. Ce nom à la saveur toute française est le fil rouge de la narration de marque, servant de pont entre culture indienne et française. Stratégie de marque et story-telling s’associent pour légitimer ce nom et développer la notoriété de la maison, à travers une préquelle mêlant réalité et fiction – dans la pure tradition proustienne. Les étoiles constituent des éléments symboliques forts de l’identité visuelle, et créent le lien entre le récit de cette nuit de fête et Léonie elle-même. Cette trame étoilée présente dans le texte l’est aussi dans les visuels, que ce soit dans le portrait stylisé du personnage Léonie ou dans le bloc-marque. Dessinée et cadrée de manière à évoquer l’image de la jeune fille songeuse postée devant sa fenêtre, l’illustration est aussi un hommage à la période Art-nouveau, forgeant un historique à la marque. Le bloc typographique dessiné sur-mesure dans un style transitionnel est doté d’un très grand contraste, symbole de l’élégance et du savoir-faire français. On retrouve aussi en son sein l’esprit du ciel étoilé, avec la présence dans la contreforme des « E » d’une demi-lune, ainsi qu’une étoile dans sa traverse. Cette astuce vient subtilement souligner la finesse typographique et apporter une touche d’originalité. La première, réservée aux titrages et textes cour, est la Berthe, un revival de la Série n°16 des caractères ordinaires produis et distribués en 1887 par la fonderie Deberny &amp; Cie, qui avant d’appartenir à la famille Deberny, fût créée par Honoré de Balzac ! Ainsi l’esprit littéraire infuse la marque jusqu’à la forme de son texte. Graphiquement, bien qu’elle reprenne le style Didone, ses serifs sont encore plus fins et ses connexions avec les fûts sont plus doux pour un aspect premium. Elle est accompagnée pour les textes courants par la Marcin Antique, une grotesque inspirée par les typographies produites par la fonderie Gustave-Mayeur à Paris au XIXe siècle. Moins policée que les néo-grotesques, elle amène la touche humaine à un univers haut-de-gamme. La palette chromatique retenue se veut vivifiante et contrastée, grâce à un bleu sombre évoquant le ciel étoilé d’une chaude nuit d’été associé à un orangé vif rappelant les saveurs épicées de l’Inde. La conception du packaging reflète ce qui se fait de plus fin dans le luxe : le gaufrage qui compose l’illustration apporte une richesse de texture, tout comme les papiers couleur teintés masse. Les dorures à chaud du motif, l’embossage sérigraphié du logotype et le ruban en satin scintillent eux, pour habillier ce précieux présent. <img width="1140" height="1406" width_o="1140"
